Purpose: A systematic review of the researches that have investigated various aspects of social security in a scattered manner draws the knowledge map of social security inside the country. Therefore, the aim of this article is to achieve thematic knowledge of social security - by examining its formal, methodical and content, and evaluation of theoretical approaches of studies.
Method: The method is meta-study, the researches related to the social security system have been reviewed and categorized, the researches related to the social security system have been reviewed and categorized.
Findings: According to the results; In the period of 2010-2018, they have reviewed 170 social security articles. Experts in economic and legal fields have paid the most attention to this issue. 34.9% have investigated the topics with a qualitative approach and 65.1% with a quantitative approach. The theoretical analysis of this concept in internal studies is reductionist.
Conclusions: According to the results; Social security can be theoretically explained as a tool for establishing democracy, a tool for income redistribution and a tool for exercising soft control over social structure.social security is a conceptual tool for conducting research in the discourse of modernization. And as a discourse structure that is not considered ontologically questionable, social security is a historical constant whose emergence context is ignored even in historical studies and its historical status is adapted to existing theories.
