Abstract
Purpose: Given the critical role of scientific research in strengthening the policies and services of the Social Security Organization—Iran’s largest social insurance institution—this study aims to reflect the scientific output of the organization's employees. Method: This applied study employed a bibliometric approach. The research population included all articles authored by employees of the Social Security Organization that were indexed in the Scopus citation database between 2000 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted at both the article and author levels. Co-occurrence maps of keywords and international collaboration networks were visualized using VOSviewer software. Findings: A total of 523 articles were authored by 3,101 individuals, averaging 5.91 authors per article. These publications received 5,527 citations overall, with an average of 10.54 citations per article. The publication trend showed an upward trajectory until 2018, followed by a decline. In 95% of the articles, only one author was affiliated with the organization, typically as a co-author. The highest levels of domestic and international collaboration were with Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the United States, respectively. Tabriz University of Medical Sciences provided the most financial support. Keyword co-occurrence analysis revealed eight thematic clusters, the largest of which focused on attitudes, awareness, education, and the role of health system personnel. Conclusion: Research activity within the organization requires greater attention. Improving the current state demands fostering a research culture, motivating researchers, and expanding both domestic and international collaboration networks.
