Abstract

Social Security reflects the commitment and responsibility of states towards the provision of social and economic security of all of the members of a given society. Social Security of Iran, as one of the main authorities in this field, covers a vast proportion of the country’s population and this makes the issue of satisfaction and performance evaluation regarding this organization a crucial task. The present paper aims to study the satisfaction of social security organization’s pensioners and their attitudes towards this organization. Data gathered through a survey undertaken in 1396 (2017) were analyzed. The sample included 400 pensioners in 9 provinces which were interviewed through telephone interviews. Results show that satisfaction with cultural services as well as not-in-person services provided by agents are low while satisfaction with the behavior of the organization’s staff as well as medical services is high. Pensioners show low level of satisfaction with retirement regulations. There is a positive relationship between satisfaction with services of social security organization and positive attitude toward this organization. However, the organization must improve its information services and revise some of its services to increase satisfaction.
